Since 1958 Cougar Underwriting PLC has strived, originally under the Company Name of L E Jones Insurance Brokers Ltd, to offer the best possible service to all customers irrespective of size or perceived value. This has proven the foundations for the current Underwriting Agency and has set the tone for our determination to deliver the goods for those Brokers who support us.
With the backing of major insurers who provide capacity to our facility, we set our standards high in terms of the speed of communication and quality of documentation, as you will see we take great pride in all areas and can compete in terms of overall premiums and policy covers.
As we have evolved from a Commercial Broker to an Underwriting Agency, we understand the frustrations all Brokers face and have designed our system to overcome these. Our well thought out bespoke system caters for Traders Combined type risks, mainly in the Manufacturing and Wholesale sectors. We have rates for over 500 trades and occupations and our current capacities enable us to quote automatically for risks where the combined Material Damage and Business Interruption sums insured are a maximum of £20,000,000 per location. We are also very competitive on Property Owners covers.
Whilst the current soft market has restricted our take up rates on quotations to around the one in four mark, in the month of February 2008 we undertook an exercise to see how many of our quotations Brokers put to their clients. We were pleased to hear that on 85% of occasions the terms we proposed were deemed the most attractive available and were indeed put forward.
